THE URER
Since 1997 the goldsmith artist Hans-Leo Peters has been working the people of Urer. They are little Sculptures made of Gold and Thalassina Anomalas, which are fossilised river crabs over 3000 years old. These fossils originate from a unique find at the mouth of the Daly River in North Australia. They were discovered by the artist in the loft of a grinding works after an odyssey in Idar Oberstein. Each sculpture has its own name in Braille Art with an ABC sequence, which personifies each Urer. With the last letter Z, the artist has created the entire people of the Urer as a complete work of art.
